NATIONAL DEWORMING DAY OBSERVED AT LAWNGTLAI

First round of the National Deworming Day 2020 was observed on 10th February in Lawngtlai District and it was launched at Jehovah Jireh Higher Secondary School, Chandmary Lawngtlai by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pu K. Laltlawmlova, MCS.
Delivering an inaugural speech, Pu K. Laltlawmlova stressed on the importance of personal hygiene and healthy habit to have a healthy life. Lawngtlai Chief Medical Officer Dr Lalthlamuana chaired the function while National Health Mission (NHM) Lawngtlai District Programme Manager Pi Lalkhawngaihdawngi Chinzah gave a keynote address on National Deworming Day. A hand washing demonstration was done, followed by administration of Tablet Albendazole to students by the Chief Guest and other officials. The function ended with a vote of thanks from RKSK Co-ordinator Pi Lalduhawmi Tlau.
NDD is observed twice every year in February and August in which a deworming tablet, Albendazole is administered to children of 1 to 19 years old. In this first round of NDD 2020, the tablet will be administered at every schools, colleges and anganwadi centres. Mopping up of those left out today will be done on 17th February.
