ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP

The Department of A.H.& Vety Lawngtlai District is looked after by the District A.H.& Vety Officer. He is overall in-charge of all matters concerning Departmental activities within Lawngtlai District. Under his supervision, there are three establishments.

  1. Chief Veterinary Officer, Lawngtlai Dispensary – He looks after the matter of all activities concerning Dispensaries and Rural Animal Health Center (RAHC) within Lawngtlai District excluding Chakma Autonomous District Council Area.
  2. Chief Veterinary Officer, Chawngte – He is in charge of all matters regarding Departmental activities both establishment and Rural Animal Health Center (RAHC) within Chakma District Council area. There are one State Veterinary Dispensary and two Rural Animal Health Centers.
  3. Chief Veterinary Officer, A.H.& Vety Farm, Mampui – He is in charge of all activities within the Departmental Farm at Mampui.

  1. Mithun Grazing Ground at Sabualtlang :
    • The area covered is about 100 sq.km   bordering Myanmar borders.
  2. NLUP – NEDP   :  Covers each and every villages in   Lawngtlai District.
  3. Vety Hospital : For the whole Lawngtlai District.

    • For beneficiaries of NLUP Mithun Trade 10 families as well as Hill Cattle rearing of 5 families in Sabualtlang.
  2. NLUP – NEDP   : Beneficiaries under different trade.

    • Poultry     – 246 Beneficiaried        : 36900 Birds
    • Dairy        –  8 Beneficiaries            : 8 Cows

  3. Vety Hospital : For all the animal rearing people in Lawngtlai District.

PROFIT OUT OF THIS PROJECT

Upgradation of State Veterinary Dispensary, Lawngtlai to a full fledged State Veterinary Hospital will be benefited immensely by Lawngtlai District. It will be the center of all Veterinary institutions covering 3 Veterinary Dispensaries and 7 Rural Animal Health Centers as well as 2 Chief Veterinary Officer posts at Chawngte and A.H.& Vety Farm Complex, Mampui.

              Mithun Grazing Ground at Sabuatlang after about 10 years the number of Mithun population will be greatly increased and will be a great benefit for the Sabuatlang village. As it is the only village rearing Mithun in Lawngtlai District, it will be the source of Mithun not only in Lawngtlai District but also for other Districts of Mizoram.
