Block Level Health Mela organised at Lawngtlai

Block Level Health Mela for Lawngtlai Block as part of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was organised by National Health Mission (NHM), Health & Family Welfare Department today at Govt Region Higher Secondary School, Lawngtlai.
Pu H. Biakzaua, MLA & Vice Chairman, Agriculture Development Board inaugurated the health mela at 9:30 a.m. Deputy Commissioner Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika presided over the function in which Senior Medical Officer Dr S. Thaizi gave a brief report and Chief Medical Officer Dr LP Malsawma proposed a vote of thanks. To kick start the health mela, Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) was generated first for Chief Guest Pu H. Biakzaua and Deputy Commissioner Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika.
There were 10 stalls covering various health programmes and 8 clinics attended by specialists and doctors. The stalls housed various programmes like non-communicable disease, tobacco, mental health, HIV/AIDS (MSACS), vaccination, etc. where free counselling and other services were carried out. Unique Health ID generation under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and Golden Card generation under AB-PMJAY were also carried out.
Block level health mela is also scheduled to be organised at Chawngte for Chawngte Block on 21st April (Thursday), at Bungtlang ‘S’ for Bungtlang ‘S’ Block on 22nd April (Friday) and at Sangau for Sangau Block on 26th April (Tuesday).
