KOLODYNE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2020 ORGANISED ON THE BANK OF CHHIMTUIPUI RIVER NEAR KAWLCHAW

As a joint initiative of Deputy Commissioner Siaha and Deputy Commissioner Lawngtlai, a two-day Kolodyne Music Festival 2020 (KMF-2020) was organised for the first time on the river bank of Chhimtuipui near Kawlchaw at the district boundary of Siaha and Lawngtlai on 7th & 8th February.

The Festival was organised to unite people of Chhimtuipui area (Siaha and Lawngtlai District) through music to work for development of the area in all walks of life. It had three themes – #ZeroWasteManagement, #SayNotoDrugs and #SayNotoPlastic. Sponsorship was received from government department, LADC, MADC and private businesses.

The Festival was inaugurated by DC Lawngtlai Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS with an opening remark. DC Siaha Pu Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS also delivered a speech. The Festival’s main event was a music concert performed by several artistes from within and outside the area. Cultural dances were also performed. Stalls were installed for selling food items and traditional dresses. A sport of rafting was also arranged for those interested.

Facebook account and  Instagram account were created to promote the Festival.

The Festival turned out to be a successful event with many positive feedbacks from the general public as well as from the performing artistes.
